About Me
Hello! I'm Lori Seel, and I have been a world traveler since the age of 28 months, when my parents, younger sister and I moved to Scotland, where my father, who was in the U.S. Navy, was being transferred. Although I was very young when we arrived, in the two years we lived there I was able to experience different places, events, people and cultures that left an indelible mark in my memory. From feeding Highland cows and sheep through the fence at the edge of our yard to attending Highland fairs where we watched as the men participated in various competitions in order to determine which Clan was better than all of the others, the experiences I was exposed to helped to develop in me a love for different cultures, architecture, languages, food and people. At the age of 12, we were transferred to southern Italy, to the region of Puglia, where we lived for almost 4 years. The majority of our time in Italy was spent living off of the military base or "on the economy," surrounded by Italians. While in Italy, we did A LOT of traveling. Every time the recreation center on the military base posted a sign-up sheet for a trip somewhere, my mom had her, my sister's and my name written down before the maximum number of people who could go had been reached. Embarrassingly, our three names were often the first three written down. As a result of those trips, as well as some very interesting and adventurous trips we took as a family, I have been privileged to have visited every region of Italy.
When I was dating, I had two specific criteria that had to be met before I would even consider going out with a man. He had to be a follower of Christ, and he had to be in the military. God heard my prayers and sent my husband, David, into my life. David is a follower of Christ, he was in the U.S. Army, and his job was to play his French horn in the Army band. When our oldest child was just a year old, my husband was transferred to Frankfurt am Main, Germany where we lived for the next three years. While in Europe, the spouses of the band members were allowed to accompany the band on many of their tours. As a result, I was privileged to travel to Austria, Belgium, Holland, and France, soaking up every minute of my time in each country.
Prior to meeting and marrying my husband, I spent three months as an exchange student in Seville, Spain, living with a Spanish family who took me to many wonderful places. After my husband retired from the U.S. Army at the end of 2004, I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and was hired by a hospital in San Antonio, TX, where I worked in the NICU. We still had two children in high school, so I transitioned to a school nurse in order to be able to attend school events they participated in. As a school nurse, I primarily provided care for Hispanic children and children of Mexican descent. I enjoyed their culture so much that I made my son promise to marry a woman from that cultural background. I succeeded, and I pray that the Lord blesses me and my husband with a beautiful Hispanic grandbaby one day!
In 2011, my mother, sister and I spent 8 days in London and the surrounding areas of Bath, Stonehenge, and Windsor. We also were in Greene Park watching the Royal Wedding of William and Kate, surrounded by around 3,000 other spectators. That is a trip I will never forget! In February of 2023, I spent 2 days in Munich, Germany, and 13 days taking a dear friend throughout Italy before she began chemotherapy for an aggressive form of cancer, then returned to Italy with my husband in June of 2024, where we spent an entire month touring Italy, on our own, enjoying each other's company and taking in the amazing architecture, artistry, history, and Italian culture of almost every region. In July of 2025, I spent two weeks in Japan, visiting people very close to me and my family. We toured Nagoya and Kyoto, and I found the Japanese to be extremely welcoming and friendly people. In addition to Europe, the UK, and Japan, I have been on cruises that have taken me to various locations in Mexico and the Bahamas. I've not even been home from Japan for three months and I am already planning where I want to go next, and that's exactly what I would love to do with you. Let me help you plan the trip of a lifetime to Europe, Asia, Africa and other far-off places, a river cruise down the Danube, a cruise through the Panama Canal or to Alaska, or even something closer to home, like Disney World. Together, we can make the trip you've only ever dreamed about come true.
Happy travels!
